Main Focus
My name is Clemens Ries, I am from Dortmund in north-west of Germany and I am a PhD Student in Jan Deussing’s lab. I started my PhD in 2019 and my research focuses on Oligodendrocytes, the main myelinating cells of the central nervous system, and their progenitors, NG2 glia. I study their influence on demyelinating processes inside the healthy and diseased murine brain with a broad range of different techniques including e.g. antibody stainings, in- vitro approaches like organotypic slice cultures, different in-vivo injury models and in-vivo 2-Photon microscopy.
